SWCP day 2

Swanage is lovely. Nice shops and people nestled away from urban Bournemouth. Gently sloping waters fine for swimming and a fishing community. I’d like to revisit for a few days holiday. Some fine local walks for tourists.

Learning a lesson from previous long distance hikes I’ve been looking after my feet better from the off. Yesterday a slipping heel due to being drenched in sweat was beginning to rub. A good airing of feet, socks, insoles and footwear for an hour at lunchtime followed by an application of Body Glide lubricant to the affected skin saved the day. I started today with a lube application as a preventative.

Guess this isn’t the way to Minehead? Lost again!
Huh! I’d planned for 5 weeks, 7 tops.
On the way to Dancing Ledge I saw my first lizard.
Back country mobile washing line. Thanks to the knitting shop in Swanage for the nappy pins.
Dry stone wall like rock strata.

Tonight’s campsite is Tom’s Field campsite at Langton Matravers. Another 11 pounder though couldn’t be more different than yesterday’s. Low key, no static caravans and large motorhomes. Mainly car campers. No pool but more shade under the trees.

Their Area 41 (+1) has bunnies.
Tonight’s supper.

Tomorrow is first wild camp of this trip just before the firing range east of Lulworth Cove. Gotta lug 2 days of water and food.
