Buses. Website and printed timetables are confusing. Best way is to use First Bus app.
Bus to Porthcurno takes long route. Leaves at 0900, arrives at 1015. Still earlier than the planned 1050-1144.
Getting on such an earlier bus meant no time to purchase food for the day. Thank goodness for the hearty homemade muesli of Dan.

The mini cafe at Porthgwarra has tasty treats for sale. Sadly cash only as an overnight power cut has knocked out their electronics. My spare change just stretches to a chocy coffee. Note to self – carry more cash at all times. Since Covid I’ve got out of the habit. Full grub will have to wait until Lands End or Sennon Cove. I find a few nuts knocking about in a forgotten pack pocket to keep me going. Must replenish emergency nut supply.

Arriving at Land’s End I bump into Stuart who I walked with for a while yesterday. We agreed to walk together again when I catch him up as he’s leaving as I arrive. I never do – he must be a faster walker than he lets on.
Land‘s End is underwhelming. I prefer Cape Cornwall for its sense of rugged isolation. That will be my end of the country I decide.
Bump into a couple of jolly women. One did the path and wrote about it. I’m instructed to buy her ebook “She Won’t Get Far Her Bag’s Too Heavy”. Worth it for the title alone I reckon! [Update December 2023 . I did indeed read Marie’s book.]
Somewhere today I passed the 60% mark.

On this trek so far I’ve raced up the highest point on the South Coast at Golden Cap, slithered to the southernmost point on the Lizard, and got to one end of the country at Cape Cornwall (Land’s End).
I continue to Pendeen.

Dan had offered to pick me up rather than me bus back to Penzance then get a lift. The coast was windy so I headed inland to The North Inn. We had some excellently kept Tribute beer to prepare us for the drive home.
That night I photograph the remaining pages of the guide book. It’s so dog eared from use and getting wet I’m worried it won’t take me home.
