SWCP day 31

Saying goodbye to Bex, Dan and Lilly I hit the trail again, this time with a full pack after two days of slack packing from Prussia Cove to Porthcurno then Porthcurno to Pendeen. I feel nurtured back to good spirits and health by their combination of excellent food cooked by Bex, wine from Dan, good company all round, as well as equipment and space for washing and drying. I even managed to dry my tent.

Today is a big day. Pendeen to St.Ives is classed the top difficulty level of severe. 7 hours to do 22km and 1045m ascent.

It was punishing. I made good time to Jon’s, doing it in 6 hours and 15 minutes but it was tough.

Amazing scenery though.
The water on the north coast is already noticeably wilder than the south.

Pop and Bonnie coastwstch fundraising.

I’ve turned a corner.

North coast hills in sight.

Today’s mushroom was the Parasol. I could’ve fed a dozen mouths with what I passed, all in excellent edible condition.

Jon cooked mushroom soup as part of supper. A good result I thought.

Jon being a wine merchant ensured we had a lively evening with Sarah, Iona and Alex.

Again a comfy bed to sleep in. Aah!
