SWCP day 44

Lovely stretch of coastline north and east of Woolacombe. It rained and was windy today so not too many photos.

The poncho which I’ve been carrying since St. Ives earns its keep,

making me look silly in the wind.
At least it helps keep me and my pack dry.
jaggies.
The National Trust bods are remaking steps down to a beach.

They tell me look out to sea at the end of the rainbow, there are two dolphins mucking about. I see them, the first in 44 days.

Lee Bay is attractive.
Ilfracombe splashed with sunshine.
Ilfracombe signage is attractive on the walls
and under foot.

In Cafe 28 in Ilfracombe I’m advised to detour tomorrow up to peak of Little Hangman for the view back to Combe Martin.

Harbour wall repairs.
Verity.
One of the more engaging signs I’ve seen littering the path.
Ilfracombe is prettier from a distance.
Rio de Janeiro? 😆
Them rainy hills in the distance are the highest on the path. I look forward to scaling them tomorrow.
Little Hangman in front of Great Hangman. At 318m Great is the highest point on the path.
Wide beech-lined way.
Final view of the Hangmen before tomorrow’s walk up them.
