SWCP day 47

Up and away early at 0700 to ensure I hit Minehead at noon to meet Lisa for celebratory meal and a lift home.

The sun came out and I had a fine morning of easy walking with great views. Probably the best visibility for the whole path!

Rugged route chosen.
Welsh hills.
My first view of my stamping ground Somerset. Flat Holm and Steep Helm islands visible.
Somerset and nearby hills.
Largest parasol!

I fell over for only the second time. Approaching a stream crossing the path looking for stepping stones I’d ignored the mud underfoot. Ah well, at least for my arrival in Minehead I’d be suitably beaten up.

Estuary muddy waters.
Finished after 47 continuous days!

The pub website said it was booked up; surprisingly it was open at 11 so I asked if they had a place, expecting no I was overjoyed they had one table left at noon, then nothing until 1630. The trail provides!

I had an hour to kill so wandered off for a coffee – to hell with diuretic reaction!

I had a little cry, the release of emotions after 47 days of push, push, push.

Lisa arrived and we settled in for our first meal together for ages.

At home I was pleased Pesky was glad to see me. Floz Boz appeared later for a scrumble.

Home comforts.
