Trail Angels
What are they? As far as I can tell the term is from the USA. I first came across it when researching the PCT in 2022. They’re local people who volunteer their time and effort, and sometimes transport, home and food to support thruhikers on long distance hikes. They might offer a lift to/from a Continue reading

In total 1555g of stuff discarded one way or another. It felt Continue reading

SWCP day 47
Up and away early at 0700 to ensure I hit Minehead at noon to meet Lisa for celebratory meal and a lift home. The sun came out and I had a fine morning of easy walking with great views. Probably the best visibility for the whole path! I fell over for only the second time. Continue reading

SWCP day 46
It rained, oh lordy it rained last night. I got soaked coming into Lynton and setting up camp. There was a pub next door with a coal fire I could smell. I couldn’t resist the draw of warmth so headed there for a couple of beers which I made last as long as possible. Somehow Continue reading

SWCP day 45
A tough walk today I’d been apprehensive about as there are some exposed stretches which are dangerous in southerly winds. Storm Babet has been bringing wind and rain. Thankfully at 0800 there is barely a breeze and it’s dry. I yomp up the hills today, they’re my kind of gradients. I end up doing 7 Continue reading

SWCP day 44
Lovely stretch of coastline north and east of Woolacombe. It rained and was windy today so not too many photos. The poncho which I’ve been carrying since St. Ives earns its keep, They tell me look out to sea at the end of the rainbow, there are two dolphins mucking about. I see them, the Continue reading
