I’ve heard on the grapevine the ferryman at Yealm is tailing off service as the tourists depart. I hit Yealm at the weekend; hopefully there’ll be enough foot traffic then to make it worth his while to operate. Otherwise it’s a 9 mile detour inland which will put my post-Plymouth firing ranges walk-through in jeopardy.
Pete delivers me back to Paignton pier on his way into work. Thanks matey!
Calm seas this morning with a bit of warm sunshine – ideal walking conditions. Some cliffs are rocky rather than soft red sandstone, this is the coastline I associate with Cornwall. Coming soon in the next few days.
Second breaky at a quayside cafe in Brixham. Here I’d the promise of a pint of ale from Roman’s dad. Alas my passing through at 10am is too early for this. Onwards I go.
Stone country is getting closer.

Fine walking on the approach to Kingswear

Mega distance today – 37km shows what can be done with good conditions.
Campsite tonight at Strete. Unusual to have no bog roll there. Luckily my emergency supply fills in.
